Kat Rodriguez just delivered one of the most dominant seasons in softball program history at University of North Carolina, starting all 56 games at second base and shattering records along the way. She set a new single-season program mark with 83 RBI—tying the ACC record—while posting a .435 batting average (fourth-best in program history), 57 runs (second-most), 77 hits (sixth-most), and 119 total bases (ninth-most).
Kat’s standout performance earned her Softball America First Team All-America, D1Softball First Team All-America, NFCA Third Team All-America, First-Team All-East Region, and First-Team All-ACC honors. She became the first player in ACC history to win Player of the Week four times in one season, was repeatedly ranked among the nation’s top second basemen by multiple outlets, and was recognized by Softball America, D1Softball, and the NCAA on numerous weekly honor lists. Most recently, Kat was selected by Sports Illustrated as the All-Decade Second Baseman, cementing her place among the sport’s elite. She has also represented Team Colombia for the past four years.
